The Youth Revolution

The mission of The Youth Revolution is to educate our youth through the arts, breed youth that stand as role models in the arts industry, and give a more positive prospective on the most popular forms of modern music.
TYR, The Youth Revolution, formally known as SAD, Students Against Drugs, began from a union of Amistad Academy Middle School students, Sabir Abdussabur, Dorothy Follens, Willis Marina, and Alezxander Moore. Alezxander Moore, founder of SAD, organized and brought the union between the students which turn into us performing in front of the Amistad Academy Middle School on the date of January 9th, 2009; which is marked as the anniversary of TYR. For this first of many performances, a skit was performed on not smoking and drinking while singing the “Drug Free” by Native Deen. Being a big hit our first go around, we organized, mobilized, then began to set times for other performances. And in attempt to expand the mission of SAD we became The Youth Revolution.
